Wow!

Well hello all! I know, I know, I'm slacking again. But here's a list of what's happened...

• Rob and I will find out the sex of the baby on Thursday at 1:30pm :) We originally said we were going to be surprised but, after talking about it, we've decided to find out. THAT I will be sure to update immediately ;)
• I got a job! I'll be working as the receptionist/front desk person for a salon called 17 Jewels in Oakland. I really like the vibe and tomorrow is officially my first day. It's a load off our minds, for sure, and it will be nice to get out of the house on a regular basis.
• We went down to L.A. for Thanksgiving and it was just great. We spent Turkey day with Rob's family and my parents joined us for dinner. It was so awesome to have our parents meet and see them get a long so well. Friday we had breakfast with Rob's mom and then drove in to L.A. to spend the rest of the day and Saturday with my parents. Sunday we had a grueling 8 hour drive home in stop and go traffic. It pretty much sucked, but both Rob and I were glad we were stuck with each other of all people :)
• I felt the baby kick for the first time a few days ago :) It felt like a dull toothpick poking my bladder! I know that's a really weird way to describe it, but it's definitely a hard thing to describe. Sometimes it feels like that feeling you get in your stomach when you go over a hill in a car or hit the peak of a rollercoaster only down near your bladder. It's exciting and weird and kind of gross all at the same time ;)

That's pretty much it for now! More pictures and updates Thursday after the 20 week screening! Halfway point! Woohoo!!

Here's a photo from the ultrasound I got at my first trimester screening about 3 weeks ago! It's a lot easier to see the baby now...

Another update

Hello all :) I know it's been a while but I've actually been working off and on for the last couple of weeks so I haven't had much computer time. Plus there's not a whole lot changing in baby world right now. I'm definitely bigger than the last picture I took of my belly and, according to our home scale, I've gained another 6 or 7 pounds since last month. That seems fine to me since I lost 4 pounds between the 2 months prior. Needed to do some catching up.

Besides feeling tired all the time, I'm only really dealing with heartburn and muscle stretching now. I do seem to be laughing more these last few days, which is a welcome change :)

We have our 16 week (4 month) doctor's appointment on Monday morning. I don't think they do another ultrasound (she wasn't going to do one last time but Rob asked her to since she had the machine set up) but we will probably hear the baby's heart beat :) I haven't felt the baby move or anything yet but, from what I've read and what I've been told by other pregnant ladies around me (there were 3 on my last temp job!), it should happen in the next 2 - 4 weeks. I'll keep everyone posted ;)

Rob is going to take some new belly pictures of me soon and I will post them next week for everyone to see.
